China and the Netherlands signed memorandum of understanding on environmental cooperation

Netherlands Government said March 24, Netherlands Environment Minister Mansfeldt during his visit to China, and China's Minister of environmental protection in Beijing, Chen Jining signed the memorandum of understanding on Sino-Dutch co-operation on environmental protection, Netherlands will help China draft new environmental regulations, minimize factory emissions and automobile exhaust, and help improve air quality in China. Meanwhile, Netherlands Royal Dutch Meteorological Institute (KNMI) and the Netherlands environmental assessment Agency (PBL) will co-operate fully with the Chinese authorities. Sources said that air pollution is one of the main challenges faced by China, the Chinese Government has decided to act, radically improve our air quality. 25 years in the Netherlands in the field of environment and sustainable development of the two countries have maintained close cooperative relations. Under the new MOU, Netherlands will be through the provision of expertise, assist in the development of stringent standards and regulations to help reduce harmful gas emissions. In addition, the Netherlands will also work with China to share its soil purification, waste treatment, environmental monitoring and other aspects of effective experience.
